Artist History Ben Jacobs (vocals and keyboard) and Ben Smith (bass) started playing together in the early years of high school. Jacobs constantly made fun of Smith's punk and ska music, to which Smith replied with a challenge: you write something better.So the two got to work, and scoured their school for a drummer and a guitarist. Joe Kuehn caught their eye at a local show where he played drums for a soon-to-be-extinct metal band. They quickly recruited him, and went in search of a guitarist.After a slew of guitarists, they settled on the stylings of Matt Matysik, a boy with a guitar that goes out of a tune really quickly, and no amp. Go figure.That's pretty much it.
