Artist description
*** Note ***: August has started a chamber/folk style solo singer-songwriter project, check out the website at www.mp3.com/augustbrown. His newest band, "The Delian League," also plays sporadically around Central Florida...Matt's other band Dimes Only released their farewell CD "Food For the Foothills," songs off it are available at www.mp3.com/dimesonly...David and longtime Halcyon friend Matt Welch are living in a haunted old plantation cabin in Charleston, South Carolina recording some really bizarre and interesting amalgam of electronic and folk music. Keep posted for the progress on that project...Kyle got a nice scholarship to FSU's music school as a percussion/composition major. Congrats to him, this is a huge accomplishment and a big step in his musicianship and creativity...that's the latest news and probably what we'll be up to for a while. Enjoy the songs up here. Thanks.
Halcyon boils down to a very simple concept- a group of friends playing the most hearfelt, energetic and beautiful music they're capable of. Any descriptions, sub-genres or classifications may change with the evolution of the band, but this core will always be what drives it. |

Artist History
Founded in late 2000, Halcyon was assmbled from the remnants of a few long-forgotten Jacksonville punk and rock bands whose members were growing apathetic with the rampant scene-cloning and unoriginality that plagued so many artists. So, they set out to do it differently. Using unique sonic textures, theoretical harmonies and an energy that can't be taught or described. Though disbanded in the late summer of 2001 due to the inevitable departure of its members to Universities across America, the band left it's unique mark in the memories of all who ever had the chance to watch them do what it is they love.
The final performace discography of the band was:
Daddy's Little Angel, Firefly, Terminal, Shadow Of Myself*, Tomorrow Will Come Later, Come To Clear, December*, Sagamore Hill, Dim The Lights, Tiara, Forgery*
* = Never recorded

Albums
Acoustic mini-album "Things Only Change," "Dim The Lights," an old demo recording "Everything worth having is worth living for" that had some of our earliest songs and, unfortunately, the garden-rake-on-a-chalkboard screeching of our godawful original lead singer, three of our final songs went unrecorded and exist in the limbo of our rapidly deteriorating memories. |
