Artist description
girlfrends' music fuses spaced out, post-ecstasy-punk-pop with an almost Gospel earnestness, wearing not only their own hearts on their sleeve's, but anyone elses they can get their grubby little paws on. Lithe, muscular bass, heavy drums, underwater guitar and brave, brave songwriting. Rare and delicious. Like strawberries, only bluer. |

We have been described as a dark U2, but we think we sound like a cross between like a cross between nothing you've ever heard before, and nothing you will ever hear again. But then, we would. |

Artist History
girlfrends were born of a wide range of domestic arguments, car crashes, lucid dreams, dogs eggs, dog fights, oujja boards, teenage love and mutual masturbation. Containing both Northerners and Southerners, they became a band New Year's Eve 1999. New Century, New Band. Years of screaming ice cool melodies at each other gives them a closeness that most bands would choose to avoid. No fluid remains unshared. |
