Artist History
Since her first performance at an anti-Vietnam war demonstration, Anne has been a frontline activist for social and economic justice -- and she's got the arrest record to prove it. Her riveting performances during the WTO demos in Seattle, and thousands of rallies, riots, conventions and concerts have energized and inspired thousands. Utah Phillips calls her the greatest labor singer in North America. Peter, Paul and Mary sing her anthem, "Have You Been to Jail for Justice." She won the Kerrville New Folk Competition in 1989. She's performed in 41 states, Canada, Ireland, Mexico and Sweden. |

Press Reviews
"packs a punch uncommon in folk music." -- In Pittsburgh "If I had a cause (and who doesn't?)I'd want Anne Feeney singing for me." -- Stephen Ide, Dirty Linen"Get ready for rock, reggae, blues, folk and lilting Irish music from this intelligent, witty modern modern day wildwoman for peace and justice." -- Ann Butler, Pittsburgh Press"easily one of the best CDs I've heard in a long, long time ... 'Have You Been to Jail for Justice?' has already become on of my all time favorite CDs. Her songs are funny, sad, angry and sarcastic, yet at the same time they are incredibly inspiring and motivating for the truth that they speak. It all flows together so well that I didn't realize until the third listening that there was such an extreme variety of styles going on." -- Genn Chryst, Editor, City College of San Francisco Guardsman |
