Artist History
Studiotone formed out of the remains of several defunct bands in the East Lansing area. Singer Brent Nuffer didnt want to abandon his musical career after the fall of his first project, Figurehead. So, in the summer of 1999 he set out to find the right musicians to form what is now Studiotone. He sought the promising guitarist from the Saginaw cover band Jedi Mind Trip; Pete Schaller and rhythm guitarist/vocalist Bryan Mauro from the band Divespire. Later, bassist Keith Witt responded to a phone call from Mauro and the rest is history. The band's orignial drummer Greg Schaupp left the band about 7 months into the project and was later replaced by drummer Dave Saxton. The band is currently playing about 5-8 gigs a month all over Michigan and hopes to branchout into the midwest states this summer of 2001. Studiotone is currently supporting their first record, "Digital Radio" released in October 2000. |
