Artist History
The idea for Sons of Solomon was hatched one lonely night in 1999. A night of boredom and alcohol blended together into one six-hour jam session that resulted in the ambient self described “trance-glam” album that is “First Session.” Adopting an anything goes attitude for the music and a one take approach to recording, Sons of Solomon recorded the entire album using a steadfast recording machine known only as the “Hitachi Bathroom Radio.” Retrieved from the bathroom of the house turned recording studio, the Hitachi boom box was utilized for recording “First Session” on a TDK IECI/Type 1 Normal Position, Precision Rigid-Construction Cassette Mechanism utilizing Dynamic Cassette Low Noise High Output technology. Side B was used. The Hitachi was a FM/AM Stereo Cassette Recorder, Model Number TRK-6820H with a dedicated 120V-60Hz-8W-power source. Recording was done in a linear manner, with each successive song feeding off the preceding. The only breaks in recording were for mandatory urinary deposits and the occasional unwelcome visitor, as can be heard in the recordings of “First Session.” When making the transition from analog tape to digital CD, few changes were made to help keep the minimalist rawness of “First Session” intact. One must understand that as with any traditional bootleg album, “First Session” is lacking certain richness present in the live performances of Sons of Solomon. Only those who have been fortunate enough to see Sons of Solomon perform live can truly know why we do what we do. |

Press Reviews
The press really hasn't taken to kindly to Sons of Solomon. The one review of Sons of Solomon that we know of has seventeen mentions of "the urge to deficate violently while listening to the group". I'm not sure, but I think that really captures the essence of S.O.S. |
