Artist History
Marko Pavic, born on February 25 in Belgrade (Yugoslavia). While living in Budapest (Hungary) with his family during his grade school years he started frequently attending rock concerts, and at the age of thirteen he began taking classical guitar lessons. He performed for the first time at his grade school graduation party. The next year he returns to Belgrade where he started playing with various bands in high school. Besides playing covers with his band ASGARD, he also worked on playing his original music. With them he performed different gigs and made one demo.
In 1995 after living in Trieste (Italy) for two years, he moved to Rome. Graduated at "University of music of Rome" he studyed with Umberto Fiorentino, Fabio Zeppetella, Massimiliano Rosati and others. While studying music he started playing with various bands in Rome. Playing electric and acoustic guitar he experienced many different styles of music. In 1998 he played more than 80 live shows in Rome and other parts of Italy. Two of his instrumental songs "Balkan" and "Phrygian magic" were published on CD’s produced by UM.
In October ’98 he formed the band PAVIC. A year later the band records "Restless Soul" a mini CD containing four songs. The band's style ca be described as melodic Hard Rock/ Metal even if there are other influences too. Late 2001, it's time for 'Night Life', this time with former-Lord Brummell vocalist Sandro Manicone. The track 'Desperate cry' soon reaches the 4th place on the Vitaminic-rock top download chart.
Marko Pavic also played on the new Chris Catena's album, out in January of 2003. Many famous musicians appeared on this album, such as:
Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze, BlackSabbath, Gary Moore...),
Bernie Marsden, Mickey Moody (Whitesnake...),
Doug Wimbish (Living Colour, Rolling Stones, Madonna, David Bowie...),
Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Ozzy Osbourne, Pat Travers, Ted Nugent, House of Lords...),
Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer (Kiss...),
Stephen Ferrone (Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Eric Clapton, Brian Ferry...),
Myron Dove (Santana, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones,Prince...), just to name a few...
Marko was playing on his song "Take Me Away" and on funky/blues version of Gershwin's cover, the classic, "Summertime". Tony Franklin, bass guitarist and producer, well known by working with Whitesnake and Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), will be doing final mix of the album.
November 2002, PAVIC signed distribution deal with Belgrade's One Records. They will be further on official distributors of Marko's "Night Life" album for the state of Yugoslavia. Yugoslavian version of the album will feature 4 bonus tracks, the complete mini- CD "Restless Soul"! Album was released in the end of 2002. |
