    Artist History
Originally back in 1998 Beau and Kevin wanted to start a band. It didn’t really work out because their styles of music clashed. It didn’t quite work. Eventually they did end up making a band. The original plan was for Kevin to be on the mic and for Beau to be on guitar. They decided that it just wasn’t gonna work out that way. The band Stalemate had just kicked their guitarist out of the band. That guitarist just happened to be Beau and Kevin’s friend Matt. They asked him to join the band as guitarist and Beau moved to drums. A friend of the band’s, Dale, was asked to join as the bassist. I guess Dale thought she was going to get kicked out or something like that so she ended up quitting. In place of Dale, their friend Kenny was asked to play bass for them. The band had a lot of different name from "Little Wooden Penis" to "The Overlooked to Society’s Waste". Then the name "No Means No" was decided on. Later on it was found out the name had already been taken. The band needed a name change. One day Kevin was reading the ,now broken up, Project Destroy’s guestbook on their web-site. In the guestbook there was an entry by Beau himself that said, "My band won’t get in contact with each other." Kevin says that’s how he thought of the name "Contact" which is the name that had now been decided on. Matt eventually quit the band. Kenny was then bumped to guitar and Kevin’s friend Rob was asked to play bass for the band. After that Contact had yet another name change. This time the band changed its name to "Nothing To Lose". Kevin and I (Dave) had been hanging out a lot in January of 2001 and he had brought up the idea to me about having double vocals in the band. He ended up asking me to join the band as a second vocalist. It was a day or two after when Kenny and Kevin had some type of disagreement about the band or something of that nature. Kenny ended up leaving the band. Well, we were in a jam. We didn’t have a guitarist. I came up with the idea of asking my friend Dave Dillon from Eminent Resistance and ShoE to temporarily play guitar for us. I had talked to him about it and he thought it was a cool idea. But now it was time to think of a permanent replacement. I remembered talking to my friend Nell. She had been kicked out of Eminent Resistance and she had been trying to start a band for a while and it just wasn’t working out. Her bassist had ironically joined ShoE with Dave. Well, anyways, I called her a day or two later and asked her if she wanted to play guitar for us. She liked the idea and we ended up having a practice that weekend as a whole band. The final Nothing To Lose line-up consisted of Kevin Jones and Dave Martin on vocals, Nell Bentz on guitar, Rob Noyes on bass, and Beau Mooney on drums. Nothing To Lose has now disbanded and the members have gone off to form other bands.
