Artist History Based in Reno/Tahoe area, Peace Mafia started as the Joey Vegas Band over five years ago. Since that time Peace Mafia has consistently gained momentum on its climb to the top. With its strong song writing abilities and unique image, they have gained the attention of powerhouse producers Ted Nelson and Michael James (Hole, L7, Rev. Horton Heat, New Radicals, etc.) for their upcoming self-titled release. This caliber is not new to the PM, as they have worked with 2 time, Grammy winning producer, Howard Lindeman III (Roberta Flack, Blondie, Foreigner, Stevie Wonder, John Lennon, Linda Rondstant, KISS, etc. and the Marry Pranksters) and Bjorn Thorsrud (Smashing Pumpkins) for their previous release - Wall of Glitter. Also in the family of greats, is Jim Parker a seasoned music video director, who helped in the editing process of the Revelator video, which went on to achieve Peace Mafia as the "best unsigned band award" from bantv.com. This video also attracted the attention of film director John Nixon, who has sighed on to direct the upcoming video for “She don't like...” Peace Mafias’ next single. Also under the hood, are the shining talents Sean Ward, graphics imagery and the Stellar Management. The Peace Mafia also hosts the Annual Northern Nevada Songwriters Showcase competition (a fundraiser for a local kids cottage - going on its 3rd year) and the Reno Scene - a monthly Showcase event for bands to perform for local heavyweights in the entertainment industry.
