Artist History
Slavebang formed sometime towards the end of 1999. It all started as an act for a school (Newport High School) talent show (Follies) doing covers of "Sway" by Coal Chamber and "(sic)" by Slipknot, but before that, the band members were just regular old friends that just hung out. Jeris and Jon were brothers attending Newport High and Josh first showed at the school in '97 after moving from Reno. Josh became friends with Jeris later in the year and was introduced to the Bantha Fodder (Jeris and Jon's former band) crew. Time passes and its '99. Chris shows up at the school and again Jeris some how becomes friends with Chris and welcomes him to the group. Blah, blah, blah and its the end of the '99 school year and Bantha Fodder breaks up (ahh) due to Adam (guitarist) leaving for Bellingham to attend college at Western. Before Adam leaves, Bantha Fodder plays its last show at Ground Zero during the summer. Jon writes the first four Slavebang songs. The four-man lineup plays some shows. Kelly joins the band, playing bass. Jon, Jeris, Chris, Josh and Kelly write three more songs. The band plays many more shows, including a battle of the bands at the Graceland in Seattle. Adam joins the band, playing guitar... The rest of the history of Slavebang has yet to be written! |

Press Reviews
PINK CHIHUAHUA, SLAVEBANG, THE DROVE (Central Library) The Libraries for All capital plan, approved by Seattle voters in November of 1998, included the relocation of the Central Library to a temporary facility during the year 2001--as well as construction of a new central library on the present site by the year 2003. I don't remember casting a vote, however, for the public performance of Slavebang, a teenage Slipknot cover band. The implied debauchery of Slavebang at the library--the fluorescent lights shot out, books strewn across tables, and legions of sexy librarians writhing ecstatically in their S&M chains--would surely not have fared so well at the polls. As with Safeco Field, it appears that the city commission has once again foisted one of their pet projects on the unwitting electorate. NATHAN THORNBURGH |
