Artist History
The story began early 1999 in Söderhamn, Sweden, when guitarist Fredrik Holmstedt and drummer
Mattias Sundberg planned to form a new band. Theydecided to contact the two guitar players from Mattias' former band
"Misfortune", and asked them if they would be interested to join the new project.
Martin took place behind the guitar and Peter took care of the vocals. Now the only thing
the band needed was a bass player, so Mattias older brother Micke, filled that spot.
A few songs were made and they went into the studio under the name "Dusted".
The demo contained four songs and sounded quite good, so it was released in 200 copies and
sold out to all of their friends. The money earned was spent on beer and burgers!
At this point Mattias spent more time behind the computer and smoking cigarettes, than doing rehearsals.
He left the band in the late 1999 and was replaced by Peter "SKINTORMENTOR" Sandeheim.
The new material sounded different so the band changed name to "Murdermarket"
(and Dusted was already taken by a fucking pop band) and the old songs laid to rust.
In May 2000 they went into the studio once again to record their second demo named "Undusted".
That six song construction wasn't released until October the same year, because of difficulties
with bass player Micke, who was forced to move due of work. After trying a few bass players
they were satisfied with Daniel "Bubby" Goude, former Divine Sin and Pale.
And now as one big happy familiy they are ready to take on the world! |
