Artist description
London's leading music reviewer claims young American singer/composer Joey DeLuxe should be the next musical addition to the fabled and fanciful and determinedly British James Bond franchise.GODZILLA producer Dean Devlin dubbed Joey "DeLuxe" in style and talent, hired him on for the movie, and the appellation has stuck.Joey combines the lean and limber look of the California surfer dude with the smooth and smoldering intonations of a cabaret artist who has performed throughout the United States and Europe. The joy, energy, sophistication and humor he expresses in his original music and lyrics make him not only a natural composer/performer for a James Bond movie, he could do a mean 007 himself. |

Press Reviews
FILM REVIEW Magazine -- Great Britain August 98 EditionReview by Howard Maxford"The soundtrack for the megabucks remake of Godzilla is something of a mixed bag though among the albums 15 tracks there are some foot stomping numbers. The best of these is "Undercover"- written and performed by Joey DeLuxe, the song is a spoofy hymn to the likes of Sam Spade, Mickey Spillane and James Bond, and benefits enormously from DeLuxe's deep, reverberating vocal. In fact it could quite easily have been a Bond song so what it's doing in a Godzilla movie I'm not sure. |
