Artist History
Formed in 1993, The Hadden Sayers Band came out of the chute running. They won Best New Band in the Houston Press Music Awards that year, followed by Best Pop/Rock Act in 1995 and 1996. After Relentless touring of the US and Europe, 3 albums, and screaming fans, the band launched into 2001 with it's newest release, "Supersonic". Recorded at the Hum Depot Studios in Nashville, TN, "Supersonic" showcases Sayers' ever-maturing songwriting. Grammy winning producer Rusty McFarland(Retrofutura & Swinging..), was called back to work on the project along with a stellar cast of Nashville "heavies" that included Gregg Morrow(Dixie Chicks,Steve Earle) on drums, and Pat Buchanan(Cyndi Lauper) on guitar.Sayers, born in Nacogdoches, Texas, began his career while attending Texas A&M University in College Station. Soon after he moved to Austion to join Silent Partners, which included Tony Coleman and Russell Jackson, both of whom had played for B.B. King. After several tours, Sayers joined Polygram recording artist Lucky Peterson's touring outfit. Then in 1992, Sayers moved to Houston and joined the legendary gulf-coast singer Miss Molly and the Whips as lead Guitarist. Sayers wrote numerous songs for that band including "Surrounded by Love" which was a regional hit. Sayers left the band in 1994 to form his own group and has bewen tearing it up ever since. |
