Artist History
The Salt Lake City based 13th Ave Band began playing music together many years ago.
The band began after Jeremiah "Miah" Johnson stole a guitar from Ben Rogers. Ben's dad bought at a local yard sale. Miah's dad taught him a few chords; Ben began to sing while Josh Johnson learned how to play the bass. A few years later after the guys invited Todd Thueson to play drums. For a time they were known as Jericho Junction but after the Johnson's mom suggested 13th Ave Band the name stuck. 13th Avenue is the street where the band members lived in Salt Lake City, UT, while they were growing up.
Their high energy show help them get all the way to the finals in the battle-of-the-bands competition sponsored by an independent Salt Lake newspaper in the winter of 2001. They have played frequently at all of the major Utah clubs including The Zephyr Club, Liquid Joe's, Harry O's, and Port O' Call. Their first album The Other Side of Lonely was released in November of 2001. It was recorded at BOHO Digitalia in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brock Cahill and Bruce Kirby produced it. In the past they have worked with Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Samples, Freddy Jones Band, String Cheese Incident, and many more. The song writing is done mainly by Jeremiah Johnson and Ben Rogers.

Press Reviews
City Weekly January 27, 2001 SXSW Finals 2001
13th Ave Band: The singer played a mean harmonica, they'll work in this town for years to come, critics be damned.
