Press Reviews
Footprints, "B-Boy Scriptures," review, Rocket Magazine, 1997. "...Nowhere, however, does B-Boy Scriptures reach a higher peak than on the King Otto-produced, "To My Mans (and everbody else who lost somebody)." Personal, heartfelt lyrics and one of the doper beats ever made will make you remember why you liked hip hop in the first place." 14 Fathoms album review, Urb Magazine, 1997. "...there were some tracks definitely worth peeping. Blind Council's, "Interogation," produced by King Otto, freaks some funky demented "wah-wah" loops and a bassline that gives new meaning to the definition of bottom."The Silent Lambs, Comrade EP review, Rocket Magazine, 1998. "But the stand-out cut of the record is, "Paid Poet," produced by the Northwest's most underrated beatminer, King Otto. Given a little more bounce and bassline, Otto's work here could easily transform into mundane jiginess for some type-shallow MC to spit over. Lucky for us, he keeps it more mysterious, presenting a nice compliment to Blak's sedately frenetic flows." |
