Artist History
Darrell D. Kelly (A.K.A. "D" Poetic Preacha) started in music as a pianist at the age of 8. He began to write lyrics at the age of 12, and began his singing ministry and careeer at the age of 14 when he sang publicly for the first time in a youth conference. Darrell went on to become the chief musician at Free Spirit Community Church, where his parents: James and Margie Kelly are the pastors. In 1994 "D" Poetic Preacha released his custom made maxi single, "Much Prayer Much Power". 'D' Poetic Preacha decided to stay out of the music industry by continuing to minister, produce, publish, and manufacture his own projects independently. Thus, he became the founder of the ministry named Supernatural Sounds, Inc. The albums, which followed, were "Royal Priesthood" in 1995. "Militant Christian Extremist" in 1997. "Defeat is not My Destiny" in 1999 and "The Dawn" released in 2000, and "The Spiritual Lyricist" in 2002. (Check the links page for the new stuff.) Darrell has had the privilege to share the stage with some of Gospel Music's most renowned artists, such as: Helen Baylor, Vernessa Mitchell, Angelo & Veronica, Phil Driscol, Henry Louw, Urban Hope, Daryl Coley, The Mighty Gospel Sound of South Africa, The Cross Movement, Benjamin Dube', John P. Kee, D.C.P. and L. G. Wise. |
