Artist description
Buddha's Belly is a Chicago-based quintet comprised of lifelong musicians from all different corners of the country. The Belly combines a variety of genres for an eclectic blend of rock, jazz, and funk that is guaranteed to keep everybody on their feet. The band features Evan Cobb on the saxophone and oboe, Eric Miller on the trombone, Daniel Golden on the guitar and vocals, Pete Wojtowicz on the bass and Jason Hanggi on the drums. Their backgrounds in classical, jazz, rock, and pop and their distinctive instrumentation give the Belly a jazzy-funky-jam-rock sound of its own. The improvisational style has gained the band a significant fanbase in the jamband scene, but the Belly appeals to jam, rock, and jazz fans alike.
The band has entertained crowds in an assortment of venues, and has headlined shows at Chicago's House of Blues and the Elbow Room in New York City. |
