Artist description
Braggadocious truth would best describe this NW Chicago native. Wordz has been sharpening his skills since 1989 and is a fresh breath to the Chicago underground scene. Where everybody seems to blow hot air, Wordz points out ridiculous, but true observations concerning beats, rhymes and life. In 1996 Wordz formed with the Basement Crew (Mistro, L-rockafella) and spent time making bootleg tapes in L-rock’s Humbolt Park basement. This period gave Wordz his stage credibility by doing shows at youth rallies, churches, in the streets and various open mics. (Double Door, Subterranean, Elbo room, Funky Buddha ect.) In 2000 Wordz began his solo career releasing a single called “The Mic Extremist” named after his often extreme views and personality. ReSERVED records began to take shape with the ReSERVED Project compilation, which gave his official introduction with a release on January 20th, 2001. Wordz is currently halfway done with his full length album and just finished recording material for vinyl that will be brought forth by the end of March or middle April (hopefully). You tell us...if we sound like someone else then we probably are not doing our job. I try and stay away from Eminem as much as possible. |
