Artist History Tom has traveled throughout his life singing and playing keyboards. He was raised singing tenor in his family's group, The Long Family, he learned a lot about traveling as a performer in those early days. And this was also when he began writing songs. Shortly after the death of his mother, Fran Long, Tom went on to pursue a solo career. It wasn't long before Tom was picked up by the Southern Gospel group, Southern Spirit. In this group he played keyboards, sang back-up and wrote more songs. Wanting to pursue a more contemporary sound, after a year on the road with Southern Spirit Tom once again went out solo. While working as a Worship Leader for a church in Florida, Tom formed agroup he called In The Midst. This contemporary group went on to record a demo album together. For 3 years they worked together doing youth rallies and conferences all over Florida. In 1999,Tom moved with his wife and children to Nashville, TN where he now resides. He continues to write, sing and record.
