Artist description
Paulding Light was formed by Tom Laverty and Jeff Mace in December of '99. After a few regular practices, Laverty and Mace were introduced to Chicago Bass Player Skip Warnke. Warnke brought with him an element of funk to complement Mace and Laverty's warm-major-improvisation styles. In Late '99 the three were intorduced to Paul Neuman, local drum hero; thus forming Paulding Light. P.Light has been playing Marquette ever since the new year at places like The Village Pub, and The Aurora. Among solo performances, the band also had the pleasure to open for Kalamazoo's Domestic Problems in early '00. P.Light has hosted two " Event Barn " 's; camping music festivals, just south of Palmer In Michigan's upper Peninsula. This summer the people with Hiawatha Music Festival graciously offered the band a closing spot on their second stage. In March 2001 Ray Torres was asked to play with Paulding Light on a regular basis making the band a five peice. Torres came from Saginaw where he grew up with Laverty and played guitar in Gypsy Underground. Also, at this time, P.Light began playing with 19 yr. old alternate drummer, Scotty Pellegrom. Paulding Light plans to keep making music into the future, as they work the recording studio with NMU's Engineer Mike Picotte, intern with MCA records. Keep your eye out for future Paulding Light History...................................... P.Light |
