Artist description
ONEDAE is a rhythmic vocalist, blending poetry and philosophy, to turn his life experiences into epic dramatic performance. Blending elements of hip hop, jungle, rock, metal and drum and bass, among others, ONEDAE creates a unique, groundbreaking sound. The honesty of his experiences and his electric excitement stimulate the conscious listener. Piercing, thought-provoking vocals, reflecting his struggle to stay above the muddled fray of the music business, propel this artist past simple creation to the realm of groundbreaking innovation.ONEDAE first hit the scene at underground spots in NYC. He developed a flock of supportive fans that jumped at his first release, Systematic Sensitization (MMC, 1998). Through the powers of the internet, ONEDAE, based on this first release, attracted attention of European listeners and embarked on a mini-tour of major European cities. Upon returning from this eye-opening tour, ONEDAE reevaluated his position as an artist. "I went into a hibernation of sorts. I took time to grow and expand my artistry. I began to clearly see why I am here."The fruits of ONEDAE's soul-searching and his trek through introspection is "Gemini's Curse," his debut full-length effort. With the help from talented, trailblazing producers The Bronx Monx and the Neurologists, the album is a vast and diverse canvas, on which ONEDAE paints a collage of vivid, lifelike pictures of struggle and reconciliation. Vocal support from Ubiquitous Zenith and Dana Diaz-Tuten (Applied Science) complete a heart-felt, captivating work that came more from necessity to communicate his word than desire for a completed project. "Gemini's Curse is an extremely personal piece. It’s like my diary, but more inclusive and open. I hope it will prove fulfilling to anyone seeking enrichment through exploration. I don't make music for anyone specific in any certain place. The thoughts and beats in my head force their way out, allowing my private drama a global stage." |
