Artist description Fish Out of Water is a Staten Island Contemporary Christian band with its roots in Acoustic Rock. The group seeks to share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through its music. The songs, written mostly by lead vocalist and guitarist Mike Brennan, are based on real-life experiences and are approached from personal faith. The band gets its name from the biblical idea that as Christians, we are not of this world, but are waiting to get to our real home- Heaven. And in the meantime, we are like Fish Out of Water.

Artist History The band, previously known as ?the Mike Brennan Band,? formed in the fall of 1996 to lead choruses at a local youth rally. Since that time, Fish Out of Water has played at New Hope Cafe (S.I. coffee house), East Stroudsburg University, (East Stroudsburg, PA) Our Savior Lutheran Church (Centereach, Long Island), Salem Evangelical Free Church (Staten Island, NY), Jordan Valley Church (Allentown, PA), Tuscarorra Inn (Mt. Bethel, PA), as well as several churches in the Lutheran Brethren synod including Bethany L.B. Church (Staten Island, NY), 59th Street L.B. Church (Brooklyn, NY) and Mt. Bethel L.B. Church (Mt. Bethel PA) and also has played at Snug HarborCultural Center (Staten Island, NY). The band consists of: Mike Brennan- Lead Vocals/Guitar, Charis Gibson- Vocals Frank Russel- Bass, and Fred Scragg- Drums. All the members serve on the worship team in their home church of Bethany Lutheran Brethern Church, where Mike Brennan has also served as a volunteer youth leader for the past ten years. Currently, Fred Scragg works with the youth group as well.
