Artist description
Event Down was born from the remnants of the grunge era. We mix early nineties alternative, such as Nirvana and Kerbdog, with the dark pounding aggression of groups like Tool and Alice in Chains. Our lyrics are emotionally charged and honest, giving the listener an intimate portrayal of us. In the studio, we have recorded two demos that show our development as musicians over the last few years. Our first release, Blacklist, was recorded in 1997. It was our beginning, a step into defining who we are: a band full of strength and emotion. Our music has become sharper and more defined in the three years since Blacklist. Event Down’s newest release, Sift, was recorded in October 2000 and embodies the maturing of our musical abilities. With the release of Sift, we hope to build our fan base and increase our radio airtime. The response from listeners has been very positive and we plan on continuing this trend as we begin writing songs for our next recording. Above all, Event Down thrives on playing concerts. We often meet new people at the end of our shows wanting to hear more, and this helps inspire us to give more. We avoid playing covers, yet still win crowds with our mosh-friendly songs. Even after relocating, Event Down is still one of the premiere alt-metal bands in the Sheridan area. |
