Artist description
T.O.W.’s mission statement might read: “To bring together the drive of modern-rock, the freedom and flair of funk, and the down-to-earth nature of independent hip-hop with poetry and lyrics that hold more meaning than simply angst and clich.” For reference, T.O.W. has been compared to Rage Against the Machine (for their aggressive sound), Faith No More (for the mastery of their instruments), and 311 (for their funky groove), but there seems to be no single band to compare them to. Suffice to say that T.O.W. is a unique band with a unique sound... have a listen, won't you?

Artist History
The band known as T.O.W. sites its humble beginnings in Charlottesville, VA. With freak chance on their side, Rob Richmond and Chris Shortway (guitarists and co-founders) pieced together the lineup one member at a time between January of 1999 and September of 2001. Beginning with singer/emcee supreme Dan Burrows, adding drummer Troy Durrer, and most recently acquiring bassist Oren Liebermann and the very eclectic Kiersten Kern Kaufman (a.k.a.: Special-K) on keyboards, the musical experience named T.O.W. arrived at it’s current musical mutation…
