Press Reviews
"They yell a lot, and they have little melodic bits, and you can sing alongwith it. It's not old-school hardcore exactly, and it sure isn't pop punk.It doesn't sound like Rancid, NOFX, Green Day, Sunny Day Real Estate, orWeezer. So I'm going to try and make up a vague description that won't comeclose to doing them justice. Imagine if the Smugglers were in a truck, say, like a milk truck. And this aforementioned milk truck was driven by a drunkDropkick Murphy's roadie, and it fell off a cliff."Opening for Electric Frankenstein are San Francisco’s perennial punkfavorites The Bar Feeders. This scruffy trio manages bass and guitararrangements that would be the envy of Primus, but never takes themselvesseriously enough to stray into the realms of white boy funk or prog rockthat Claypool will go to. No, with album titles like ”SCOTTO EL BLOTTO” and“Por For Four, Por Favor” the Bar Feeders are solidly party punk even thoughthey aren’t content just to play simple two chord riffs. |
