Artist History Rusty Souls is a mix of members from other bands like Mindblizz, Shoeshine Man, Ancient Dreams a tribute to Candlemass, Infinity. Rusty Souls was started in spring 2001 by guitarist Eric Rauti (Ancient Dreams a tribute to Candlemass) who rang his friend and bassplayer Mats Rendlert (Ancient Dreams a tribute to Candlemass, ex. Shoeshine man) and asked him if he wanted to join and he said yes. Almost all the music is composed and arranged at rehersal by Rusty Souls, we like to work as a unit. Eric and Mats also plays in the Candlemass tribute band Ancient Dreams who last year played a couple of shows with the legendary Candlemass frontman Messiah Marcolin and the other candlemass members Mappe Björkman and Janne Lind (at the Motala metal festival and at Belsepub in Gothenburg). Anders Ström who Eric got to know when they both played in the swedish band Nme Within and did a Sweden tour in 1995 plays the drums on Dust Devil and is no longer a member of Rusty Souls. Tomas Eriksson is our new drummer. Tomas also playes guitar in the band "Runemagic". On vocals we got Peter Nilsson from the band Mindblizz. Peters voice sometime reminds about Ozzy and Ian Gillan and is a great contribution to the heavy Rusty Souls sound. Our influenses are mainly bands from the eighties and seventies like Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Badlands and also new bands like Black label society. We try to keep the music simple and heavy so when we play the songs live we can concentrate on drinking a lot of beer and to deliver a good rocknroll show that makes the crowd happy... =)
