Artist History
In November of 1999, while writing and recording Dogwood's (Tooth and Nail) 5th studio album, guitarist/songwriter Sean O'Donnell had the inspiration to write music that was a far cry from the somewhat predictable and uninspiring halls of punk rock. With a handful of new songs and a couple of buddies for a band, Reeve Oliver was born as the side project that would soon become more. After dabbling with shows and continuing to write and record new music for Reeve Oliver, O'Donnell realized that his true passion rested in the future of his new band. He left Dogwood in the fall of 2001 to pursue Reeve full time hoping to move indie rock away from the obvious and towards the ingenious. |

Press Reviews
Success is no stranger to the boys of Reeve Oliver. Early in the bands inception, one of their songs was featured in the "Transworld Surf" video game for Xbox. Suddenly, millions of kids worldwide knew the name and music of Reeve Oliver. And media outlets have quickly embraced Reeve Oliver as well, comparing their music to everything from the Foo Fighters and the Lemonheads to Dinosaur Jr. and Weezer. SD CityBeat Editor Troy Johnson named Reeve Oliver "The Best New Band of 2002" and said their songs "are heads and tails above anything else that's come out this year." And local radio's affection for Reeve Oliver is obvious in the constant airplay that Reeve garners on 91X, FM 94/9, 92/1 Premium Radio, and Rock 105.3. In fact, 92/1 has gone farther and recognized the song, "California" from Reeve Oliver as the number 4 song on their "Top 10 Singles of 2002". |
