Artist History
It all started when Owen met Chris in little league... their friendship blossomed and they started playing guitar in 9th grade. Then they became friends with Taylor in Algebra class and stole him from another band and assimilated him as the bass player. After a slew of drummers played several shows... the boys settled down with Cory. The rest as they say, is history. |

Press Reviews
Here's a feature that audiogalaxy.com did on us: "Knock knock." "Who's there?" "Omar." "Omar Who?" "Omar goodness, wrong door!"
From this lame knock-knock joke comes Omar Goodness, a Weezer-style geek rock band. They brag on their Nintendo skills and ask, "Why don't girls dig four-eyed scrawny guys?" Their influences range from Weezer to The Beach Boys, The Get Up Kids to Cat Stevens. The Beach Boys influence is especially aparrent in the multi-part harmonized vocals, which are their best feature (I hear one singer recently lost his falsetto. A shame). Another strong point is OG's lyrics, which are incredibly cute, if slightly immature. The song that got me hooked was "Wal-Mart Gal," where they sing "I'm in love with the girl from Kitchenware..." (as a former kitchenware salesgirl, it made me smile). These days, with a new wannabe Weezer band popping up every day, it's a rare occasion to find one that stands out. OG's strength is that they draw from other areas, adding a little oldies, a little pop punk, and a lot of skill. I can see these guys really going places.
