Artist History
Level Of Intensity was formed in 1998 by guitarist Jonathan Cioschi and vocalist Brenton Feeser and was intended to be a hardcore / metal outfit . After going through several members and putting out a home-recorded demo, they gradually found Eric Ottaviano (guitar), Andrew Sacco (drums) and Joseph Boccuto (bass) . With this new, solid lineup, the band realized their style was quickly falling away from "hardcore" and taking a much more atmospheric and complex approach to the music they wanted to create . With this, they began refining some old song and writing lots of new ones . After recording 5 tracks at The Dungeon in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania for a split CD with The Johnny Playwrong Syndicate in December, Level Of Intensity began playing countless shows with bands like Nora, Zao, The Stryder, Not Waving But Drowning, The Commercials, The Revolver Method, Me Without You, The Johnny Playwrong Syndicate, Evil Divine, With Immortality, and many other local and nation acts all around the Philadelphia region . Set to record new tracks all throughout the month of April for a new EP on Kickstart Audio Records and a split with PA Black Metal band Evil Divine, the band has all but abandoned anything remotely reminiscent of "hardcore" in their music and has been generally dubbed Emotional Death-Black Metal by those who hav witnessed their live performance or heard their CD . Now, with new studio keyboardist (and hopefully Live as well soon) Christian Herzog, the band has yet another element added to the atmosphere of their music . Be sure to check this band out if they are in your town or on CD . |
