Artist description
Peter „Blackie“ Hosek - the guy, who is well-known to all metal listeners mainly due to his participation in the legendary band Root – is enormously gifted guitarist composing in a high innovative way. Well, his talent hasn´t been yet adequately appreciated, but there is another more important fact. Blackie doesn´t give his composing art just to above mentioned Root, the well of his ideas has been fulfilling with other musical projects. Let´s remember cool black/thrash group Crux or the absolutely unholy & uncompromising black metal band Entrails… And – last but not least – CALES. Yes, CALES. An enigmatic project whose charismatic monumentality hasn´t got perhaps any competition at the Czech metal scene. Blackie began with CALES in 1996, when the debut album „Bonds Of Togetherness“ was released. Our guitar hero paid here (both musically and lyricaly) a tribute to the ancient Celtic nation and to their druid´s mythology. Five long years has passed and we can celebrate again – CALES is back with its second album. The titel is „The Pass In Time“ and it is (with one word said) epochal! Abundant instrumental arrangements and massive wall of guitars create together the megacompact and pretty melodious record, which takes immediately your serious interest. The emotional cartridge of „The Pass In Time“ is inimitable. You know it surely - there are the moments sometimes, when the words can´t simply describe the feelings which are skidding with your torn mind as the hurricane with a small boat… If your hearts are weeping by listening to such albums as „Hammerheart“, „Twilight Of Gods“ (Bathory), „Bloody Kisses“ (Type O Negative) or „Kargeras“ and „The Book“ (Root) – be 100% sure that the brand new CALES is here for you. Blackie has made with „The Pass In Time“ his best master art so far. |
