Artist History
Founded in 1987 by Mark Cashman, Tachyon Chamber Orchestra was a computer-based compositional sideline for a number of years, while the founder pursued progressive rock and fusion music in a conventional band context. It became clear that Tachyon Chamber Orchestra could do more exciting and rich music than a conventional band, and could do so with much less difficulty. The virtual performers had no problem with time signatures like 27, didn't mind intricate polyrhythms, never got tired, drunk, or showed up late. In 1995, the founder gave up conventional music and has been solely involved in Tachyon Chamber Orchestra ever since. In 2000, the first Tachyon Chamber Orchestra CD, Magnetic Domains, was published by the composer. |
