Whether its Creed, Metallica, P.O.D., Disturbed, Third Day, Dream Theater, Stone Temple Pilots, U2, or Stevie Ray Vaughn, we like what these bands have done musically, so that's who influences us.

Artist History "...this thing is bigger than we are..." Coming off the momentum of new songs and a new line up, the Chicago based Alternative Hard Rockin' / Slammin' Groove Metal band KnotEye is ripping through 2003 being lead by faith and a compilation of thick grooves, heavy riffs and melodic vocals. Q. What makes KnotEye different than other bands? A. "With many bands, the focus is squarely on the band. KnotEye, on the other hand, strives to take the focus off of us and put the focus on the audience. KnotEye is not there to be lifted up, we are there to lift up the audience. KnotEye is not there to be served, we are there to serve. We show up smiling and then get on stage slammin' and throwin' down and just having a great time. It's all in the name," explains guitarist Ron Hix "it's not about 'I', hence KnotEye". Q. What can someone expect from a KnotEye concert? A. "A lot of head-banging, a lot of energy and passionate musicianship...and an opportunity to leave thinking differently than when you came in." Q. What do you mean, thinking differently? A. "If you attend a KnotEye concert what you're going to hear is exceptionally good music that grooves and encouraging, thought-provoking lyrics...lyrics that inspire rather than depress and oppress. Look at your typical alternative rock band today, what are they singing about? They're screaming about illicit sex, violence, drugs and whatever other shocking message they can put out that will get people to look at them. That's not who we are and that is not what we are about, so I'm not going to sing about it", says lead vocalist Darren Bennefield. "I think there's a lot of people out there who are just like us... they want to go out, hang with some friends and have a good time." Q. Are you guys a Christian Rock band? A. "As artist, we simply write about the things that are important to us. The discouraging thing about being labeled as a "Christian Rock" band is the baggage that comes with the title. Many hear the label "Christian Rock" and immediately think of this overbearing, judgemental, "preachy", shove it down your throat nonsense. That is not who we are at all! As Christians we do not apologize for the fact that God is important to us. What I find really interesting is that all artist have some form of beliefs whether they be atheist, agnostic, muslim, buddhist, satanist or whatever. But when is the last time you heard someone label a band as an "atheist rock" band or a "buddhist rock" band", explains guitarist Ron Hix.
