    Artist description
John Henry Sheridan blends a variety of styles into a smorgasbord of musical expression. The combination of catchiness, tastefulness and wit makes for a satisfying listening experience all the way through. For those who place value in lyrical content, John's uncanny ability to capture life in a set number of rhyming lines will make happy campers of all. He delves into the mundane and makes it both interesting and evocative. In his signature song Brooklyn (enshrined by Modus Tollens) John turns a trip to school and back into the grooviest and hippest topic ever. John's debut release "Brooklyn Folk" is a fine example of this young artists brimming talents and displays a healthy amount of versatility without going overboard and straying from the overall vibe of the whole. His rock band Modus Tollens is well worth a listen and offers an interesting perspective on John's songwriting as the product of what happens when five other young and talented musicians add their own touch of taste and style to the overall picture.

    Artist History
This artist began his voyage of expression as a young child drawing "books" which consisted of a couple of pages of drawings which attempted to tell a story often involving the likes of vampires, werewolves and mummies. He also began singing and entertaining at the age of six mimicking an Irish brogue that he picked up from the Irish folk music he would hear around the house. His first band was actually a garage band of noisemakers which was together three years before his first real guitar and consisted of toy guitars and tupperware drums. He got his first guitar a few months after his eleventh birthday which was a white, Strat-shaped, RokAxe electric. The first band with real instruments that he was in involved a couple of neighbors, bad equipment, a lot of ambition, and a severe shortage of skill. His next group which was together in the Spring of his 12th year actually had an impressive amount of ability and involved drummer Dave Evans (drummer of Modus Tollens). This band didn't last long however and left John a loner guitarist for nearly the length of his eighth grade year. In high school John made a lot of important musical connections like experimental musician and recording partner Joey Dweck, manager/producer Jason Hills, and many other valuable musicians that play a current role in his musical life such as Jeremy Batchelor (bassist of Modus Tollens) and Mike Barash (bassist of the Twilite Zone Blues Band - a cover trio in which John fronts). John's musical life in high school was a rich one with his taking on the role as leader of a budding metal band Beauty and Chaos (w/ many previous apellations) and picking up the trumpet, and both the disciplines of the acoustic and classical guitars. The illustrious Beauty and Chaos which by the end of high school was a gigging and recording entity, called it quits due to the departure of keyboardist Jason Hills, the growing estrangedness between members, and the their current lack of a bass player who had recently split the band. College brought on the influence of classical and jazz theories. In college, after about a six month break from Beauty and Chaos the core three members of the group got together to form a new group Klockwerk which discarded all the old material and adopted a newer, more pop sound. Klockwerk had a run of about 14 months and split up in December of '99 opening the door for a jam session with old jam buddies Dave Evans and Jeremy Bachelor which led to the forming of a then jazz rock trio Modus Tollens. Modus Tollens has since grown into the six man behemoth that it is today. John is now currently the primary songwriter and guitarist of Modus Tollens as well as the lead singer and guitarist of the Twilite Zone Blues Band. On his down time he enjoys sharpening his one-man folk act and recording as much of his music as possible.
