Artist description John has been making music since he was a small baby.  He also has been listening to music since he was a small baby, and has been spending way way way too much of his money on CDs since he was like twelve.  So he listened to many thousands of great amazing beautiful lovely moving powerful passionate songs in a mad quest to find somebody who told stories that he could relate to, that somehow seemed to be his story also.  But for some reason, for all of those many thousands of great amazing etc songs he was listening to, it seemed overall there weren't too many folks out there telling stories that he even wanted to hear, much less stories that could be his own.  In fact, there wasn't anybody telling stories that could be his own. Therefore, being a boy of considerable pluck, he thought a bit, put 2 and 2 together, somehow came up with 1 as the correct answer (who needs 4?), and started to tell his own story through his own songs.  However, he wasn't content with simply writing songs as songs, nor content with the lame lame lame idea of songs simply existing as songs, so made them into riddles, line drawings, grammar theories, oversized soft-cover mythological reference books, tasteless jokes, various untitled dada manifesto material, bad gay puns, etc etc etc.  If you decide to deconstruct any of these pieces, please keep this fact well in mind before you begin.  Thanks so much for listening!

Artist History John has played piano since age 5 (he's 20 now - who needs math?) and singing since he was a small baby (singing/screaming/crying). These songs take him months to write for some reason. Evidence: this particular cycle of songs was started in October 1999, and Real Life has interfered with his internal monologue so dagnabbed much that he still has more songs to write before the entire album will be ready to record. Hopefully, some generous benefactor (anybody out there?) will provide for him so that he'll be able to ignore Real Life for awhile (as long as humanly possible) and stick to the music.

Group Members John is his own one-man band. He hopes to add other musicians in the coming future, but there's no telling when that'll happen. Real Life has interfered with that up to this point. Well... truth be told, Real Life AND John's tendencies to rehearse at odd quiet alone hours like 1 and 2 in the morning when most self-respecting members of society should be asleep in their cozy warm country kitchen beds have interfered up to this point. But whatever, he does all the work himself for the time being and is very okay with that..
