Artist History
Will Johnson, the former frontman for No Preservatives Added, has been playing guitar since he was 12. After hearing Steve Vai transform the national anthem, he plucked out his own version on one string and has never looked back. After honing his chops with a high school garage band, Will began entering guitar contests, and in 1998 he won first place in the "Great Alaska Riff Contest" at the young age of 21.
Will went on to form the band No Preservatives Added in which he sang, played lead guitar, and wrote all the music. After writing an album's worth of material, the band cut their first CD, Refrigerate After Opening, at a local studio in Anchorage. The group toured extensively in Alaska to promote Will's music, but the group eventually disbanded.
Today, Will performs as a solo act, as well as performing with Seasons of the Witch singer/songwriter Lili McGovern at various venues in the Anchorage area. Will is currently recording his solo debut album, Remember When. |
