Artist History
Triple XL is primarily a combination of 2 bands. Smakhead and Muscle. Darin who was the drummer for Muscle had already tasted fame with Muscle. They opened up for Megadeth on tour and had played with groups like Sevendust. He was looking for an opportunity to become the frontman, and Tim who was the Singer/guitarist for Smakhead was looking to withdraw from the front spot. The two met through a mutual friend and began writing material as a 2 peice. Once they had a steady set of songs, Tim called his friend from Smakhead, Jim King to check out what they had been working on. After hearing the material, Jim decided this was what he had been looking for. Although Smakhead was still a working band, Tim and Jim had withdrawn due to band differences. Later the band added drummer Steve Conrady to complete the lineup. As fate would have it, Steve worked in the same building as Tim and when a friend of Steve's heard that he was looking for a drummer, Steve was the first person he thought of. Now with the complete lineup, Triple XL is setting out to take over the Arizona Music scene. |
