Artist History
Scarify was formed about 1 year ago (mid January 2000) when Lou just happened to come a across a kid named Joe Hunter. I met Joe on AOL through similar music interests. He told me that he was in a trio (Dwayne and John) and they were looking for a guitarist. I decided to take Joe up on the offer and jam and see how things worked. Communication between me and Joe was becoming very sterile. His lack of motivation towards the band was leaving me bored so I decided to screw talking to him and get Johns number. Me and John hit it off right away we set a date to jam and that's exactly what we did. Me and John's playing just clicked instantly. John was very offbeat when I first met him he was very similar to Joey Jordison from slipknot. He had nearly no double bass technique then. But they difference in styles was making for very unique music. As we progressed through the months Joe was becoming more and more distant. He wasn't showing up and always had excuses. Since we met till about Mid Summer the music was basically being produced by me and john. But then Dwayne decided to step it up. When summer came around Dwayne really began contributing to the writing process he has produced alot of the basis of our new material. Soon Oct rolled around and tensions between Joe and the rest of the band were becoming VERY strong. Joe was contributing little to nothing to help the band. Him leaving the band was almost inevitable. There just needed to be one more string pulled till he was gone and the string was pulled last October. After a show at his uncles house Joe thought he would be cool and try to come after me when my back was turned. Well he got his ass kicked and that's the end of that. The reason im not going to go into detail about the situation is because its irrelevant to this bands history all u need to know is that his gay ass is gone. If u really want the beef of the story email me. Moving on, after that we began our search for a new singer. Our search was becoming more and more discouraging. During that 3 month period we basically spent the bulk of our time writing new music. Till about a month ago. One day I got an email for a kid named Mat Olivo who was interested in trying out. We set up a try out date and jammed to Fear Factory and that's when we knew it was set. Hopefully Mat can bring an new edge to our sound that we have been looking for.... We'll that's basically it so far were hoping to release a cd before summer so be on the look out! |
