Artist History
According to Bigelow, who has been a key member of other local combos such as Built For Comfort, Mojo Deluxe is the culmination of years of experience for all of the members."When Mike Bowman and I decided to form a new band three years ago," said Bigelow, "we knew we wanted the best musicians we could find, but still have fun doing it. That we were successful comes across to our audience, who fuel the hot playing and good-time energy with their enthusiastic dancing." Luckily for Bigelow and Bowman, they didn't have to look far for good talent. Young Hillary Hightower is Bigelow's youngest sister, and drummer Stockley and pianist Rossi went back with them to college days. Adding Bowman's Oakland hills neighbor Cross on sax made the resulting group almost a family affair. According to Rossi (producer/engineer of the new CD), "Everyone will be surprised when they hear the immediacy and energy of this record. We think our fans will be delighted at how we captured the fire of our live shows, and hope to get it out to blues and jazz DJs at radio stations across the country. To us, it’s like a party record. The CD has fourteen original songs and five comedy bits in between. It’s an add water and stir good time and a lot of bang for the buck." |
