Artist description
Cody Gaisser has a passion for country- and folk-flavored music like Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Jayhawks, Flying Burrito Brothers, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and the Byrds. Kirk Russell on the other hand loves the psychedelic rock sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cream, Lenny Kravitz, Beck, and reggae legend Bob Marley. With these influences beating against each other in every song, a completely different sound is constructed. This sound is comprised of Russell's fat classic rock riffs and Gaisser's poetic lyrics as well as ambient organ vamps, slinky basslines, downright dirty feedback, and thick synthetic loops. But no matter what sound blasts from their amplifiers, Liquid Beef Blues Band always remain true to the music itself. |

Artist History
Liquid Beef Blues Band began as nothing more than a recording project around Christmas of 1999. Kirk Russell and Cody Gaisser wanted to play a new type of music which would free them from their roles as blues sideman and folk songwriter respectively. The sound they created was far ahead of anything yet created by their contemporaries. The two musicians found the music far too magical to be abandoned and have decided to form a band based around the two-man recording project. Their current goal: world domination. |
