Artist History HIGHPOINT is a rock foursome from Dallas Texas. Formed in 1998 the bands inception hales from a street named High Point Lane, in which the founding members all resided on. In 1998, HIGHPOINT perfected its infections alternative rhythm/soul rock and released a 4 song EP which garnered radio friendly tunes as “Laredo” and “Man in You’. With a growing fan base and promotional efforts from their management company HP Associates, HIGHPOINT recorded and released an eagerly awaited debut 11- track CD entitled "“Storyteller” late in 1999. To support the CD HIGHPOINT embarked on a promotional tour that took them through venues and colleges in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Louisiana. Songs off the Storyteller project such as “Cry”, “Leave”, “Just Like You”, and “Hole” became radio favorites throughout the tour being played on regional, college and national broadcast radio stations. During 1999 HIGHPOINT picked up awards from Mars Battle of the Bands, Best of 1999 Local Bands (Dallas) and both Ryan and HIGHPOINT were finalists in Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star Search. Fall 2000 proved a challenge for HIGHPOINT, first finding a replacement bass player and eventually replacing the entire management team. Currently the band has secured new management is eagerly playing and working on new material for their upcoming new release, scheduled for summer 2001. The band is currently putting finishing touches on the first single from the new CD and plans to pre-release the single available from the website in MP3 form at highpointrocks.com. A promotional video and TV appearances are also to be included to support the new single.
