Artist description
YOLK is a six-headed monster who has emerged from the underground of New York's club scene. The sound of the band is all their own, melding grooves into a sweaty pool of rock, funk, hardcore metal, ska, and jazz.
YOLK has independently sold over 50,000 copies of their first three albums, over a period of 8 years. Over the years, YOLK has shared stages with bands such as Fishbone, Sonic Youth, moe., The Toasters, Ween, and Wyclef Jean.

Artist History
Yolk is currently taking time off of the full-time road trip, due to an overdose of generic Ramen Noodles and macaroni & cheese. It is very difficult to make a living as an independent band on the road, and Yolk's music has mostly been deemed as simply too weird for the conventional record label's tastes.
Yolk now performs around the east coast once every 6-8 weeks, and so far this touring schedule has resulted in a slew of Sold-out shows and events. "Now we play gigs for the hell of it and for our love for the music - not to scrape up enough change to eat a Mini-Mart dinner at the next rest stop." - David Fitzhugh (guitar / trumpet) But apparently, Yolk's Mini-Mart addiction has driven them to pull together and kick out the jams once again.
The members of Yolk are spread across the state, from NYC to Binghamton (their hometown) and are still engaged in music: releasing solo stuff, doing side-projects, and returning to school to further study their music. But when they get together, the shows are stranger and more fun than ever before. Chalk it up to the love of staying bizarre in a boring world.
