Artist description
Curvature has an intense instrumental sound that is equally lush Drones as furious Noise. Melodies gracefully soar and weave around each other in brilliant orchestration. Intricate sonic soundscapes are built layer upon shimmering layer, coated in distortion, beauty, and a sense of immediacy and drama. Curvature's music is self-produced and truly collaborative in origin with every member lending a hand in writing. Most often compared to Tristeza and Mogwai, Curvature creates atmospheric music for those who appreciate aural escapism and epic works of art. |

Artist History
You could say that Curvature began with Ken Mahru, but that wouldn't be right. You could say that Curvature began with the birth of its current and potential members, but that is too mystical. Perhaps you could say that Curvature began after numerous rounds of debate over what band name to use for one particular show for four guys who have been jamming and creating songs together for almost a year. Maybe it doesn't matter at all where the band began, but where it is headed.Still an infant learning about the world around it, Curvature is pushing its own boundaries. Creating music that is dynamic, epic, and above all, kick ass! Standard rock instruments: two guitars, bass, and drums. Non-linear avant-rock songs infused with free-indie embellishments. A penchant for improvisation combined with a passion for epic and emotional music. Of course, all of this is tempered with a touch of pop sensibility. |

Press Reviews
Genius Rock, energizing lullabye.
My first thoughts were of Tool as I listened to the intro. I have to say, [Clarity] has an astounding strength throughout. Upon noticing the 8:00+ song length, I figured this was going to be some long spacey ballad. I had no idea that the song would be an instrumental. Still, you guys never sound like you're playing to kill time. There's a logical progression within the entire song. the creascendos at (roughly) 3:30 and 5:00 are very soulful and evocative. The lull afterward is perfect for the passive nature of this song. I think you have done a tremendous job at writing intelligent MUSIC. it's a very full arrangement, and the little nuances are apparent everywhere... lots of layering, etc. It feels tight as a whole, and comfortable to listen to. I love the climax at the end with the "just enough" distortion on the guitars - also, I think the ending is very classy. I can't explin why, but there's something about the way it falls off that feels just perfect. Great job!! - ksr2000
