Press Reviews
Winter Kills is a blend of traditional gothic lyrics, tortured heavy metal guitars, and video game keyboard sounds that mix chaotically together to form a crushing dark alternative sound. Based out of muggy Orlando Florida, this mp3.com-featured band has been influenced by popular goth bands such as The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Mission U.K, The Cult, and The Smiths. The band's current ep, titled Secrets, lies, and blasphemy houses five song selections. The best, in my opinion, has to be the first track, 'New Orleans'. Though most of us can testify as to the over-dramatization and use of New Orleans themes in gothic culture, this song is still interesting, thanks to the spooky vocals of lead singer, David Love. The rest of the tracks are good, too, but 'New Orleans' is by far the best. Danceable Goth with sinister guitars and lyrics about vampire infested-New Orleans. A strong New Wave influence in the dramatic Bryan Ferry-esque vocals. Similar Artists: Gene Loves Jezebel, Sisters of Mercy, Southern Death Cult |
