    Artist History
The band was founded by Bieke, Daniel and Stefan sometime in the beginning of 1996. We met each other at a concert of the Finnish band Panasonic in STUC, and then decided that we could do better ourselves, and especially that the music we would make would sound completetly different. So we started to write our own songs and play lots of Depeche Mode covers, together with our new charismatic lead singer Myriam. In 1997 we bought some more advanced equipment, such as a second hand tape recorder and a groovebox, and learned how to play with it. During 1998 we recorded our songs on a tape and distributed it worldwide to a select audience of 5 some persons in Belgium, Portugal and Alabama. Our music was described as sounding 80-ish, Depeche Modish and sometimes  a bit like Hooverphonic.  Everybody also liked our music, but that's probably because we gave the tape to our friends only... On March 12,  1999 our first live performance took place in Heverlee. As from the end of May our songs can be downloaded from MP3.com , where you can also order our CDs. In July 1999 we started working on some new songs, such as Works of Art and Como Eu Quero. At the end of October 2000 we will work on our new album, and we hope to have some tracks on this page in November.

    Press Reviews
This is a review from RAW42 (http://www.raw42.com) on Friday 13th August.... "angelic vocals are the highlight of the belgium synthpop outfit, sekret oktober. with shades of gothic darkwave, this band are reminiscent of many early 80's bands like depeche mode. simple music and standard sound tracks are enhanced by the perfectly suited vocals of bieke and miriam... melancholy music. an almost danceable beat is belied by the synths in st. etienne, an unassuming song about a church which brings an almost horror movie soundtrack feel to this number. the layered soaring voices add an element of melancholy and that's the chord this band strikes in all 3 tracks - sadness. doubt, a nice standout track is made for the airwaves. lighter than the others, this song flows smoothly from start to finish and the vocals once again soar in this pop flavoured goth track. thumping kick, deep bass, sweeping pads and light airy vocals are the focus of burned skin, a melodic number only because of the vocals which carry the tune from one place to another. the sweeping pads add a spacey tone to the music but it's the mournful singing which keeps this song afloat."This is a review from Listen.com: Listen.com review Lead singer Myriam's waifish soprano voice winds its way through a cathedral of dark Synth Pop beats and atmospheric orchestral keyboards, rather like the small slave boy who always appears in Peter Greenaway movies.
