Raised by musically hip parents she cut her teeth on an array of styles,from Motown to Mariachis , Hank Williams to the White Album, Aretha, Ronstadt, Santana and Summer, Michael McDonald, Little Joe, Anita Baker and The Eagles. Coming of age in the 80's she rode the New Wave into Elvis Costello and The Clash and turned on to Pat Benetar, Stevie Nicks, and Annie Lennox. College brought her the discovery of Lady Day, Ella, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn and the Manhatten Transfer. Today, being the product of her musical environment, she continues to listen and learn. |
