Artist History A native of Germany, Leni Stern gave up a successful acting career to study Film Scoring at Berklee. While there she studied privately with guitarist Bill Frisell and pianist/composer Charlie Banacos. She and her husband, guitarist Mike Stern, later moved to New York where they both embarked on successful recording careers. Ms. Stern has 11 albums to her credit as a leader and has received the Gibson Guitar Award for Best Female Jazz Guitarist for the past five years in a row.
