But who sings songs featured on a bass with syncopated rhythms? And that's the beauty of it. Music that is played for music's sake. Kick Start Chubby is a beautiful, interesting and passionate exercise in playing the mysterious instrument called the bass. Kickstart Chubby (Greg Campbell) isn't just jacking off. The boy's articulation and sense of time are always present no matter how involved the music becomes. Like Pastoria, madness has its place and can be accessible when the player has the melody and the "art of listening" ultimately in mind. If you want to hear a world-class player before the world has enough class to "get it", pick this CD up.
