Artist History
Jayanti is one of the leading disciples of Veena Sahasrabuddhe.She began her musical training with the harmonium with Purshottam Walavalkar. Subsequently, she began her vocal training with Tulika Ghosh, daughter of Pt.Nikhil Ghosh.She then became a disciple of Veena Sahasrabuddhe in the ancient tradition of Gurukul method of education.She has had the opportunity to provide vocal support to Veenaji in several concerts in India and abroad.Jayanti has a Masters degree in Music and was awarded a national scholarship from the Government of India. She also has a Bachelorsdegree in Anthropology and a second Masters in Sociology. For both these degrees she ranked first in Bombay University.She is the daughter-in-law of Veena Sahasrabuddhe.Jayanti has given many solo performances in India and the US. |
