Artist description
San Francisco?s Janine Rae is a critically acclaimed
singer/songwriter with a rare vision of creating songs
that are unafraid to look at the heart of relationships
and society. Musically and lyrically, she contrasts
strong, direct honesty with sudden vulnerability,
and the result is captivating. Her four piece band
is quickly becoming a fixture on the San Francisco
club circuit, and cuts from her self-released CD,
?Stop, I?m Conscious?, have been featured on college
radio stations across the nat ion. Hailed by
Electronic Musician magazine for her ?sweet vocals?
and ?thoughtful lyrics?, Janine Rae is clearly an
artist on the rise.
Rae?s beautiful, clear voice strikes the listener
with strong emotional impact, and her combination
of alterna tive and pop styles earned her a dazzling
review from the popular on-line indie music magazine,
Shattered.com. Her song ?Sister? was among the
final 50 songs in the highly competitive John Lennon
Songwriting contest, surpassing thousands of other
entries. Upon hearing Rae?s songs, guitar instructor
and Narada recording artist Matthew Montfort was so
impressed with her unique sound that he put his own
career on hold to become co-producer of the debut CD.ˇ |
