Artist History Musical influences: Erik Satie, the French composer who lived from 1866-1925 and was perhaps the first 'ambient music' composer. His music was both ahead of his time and timeless. Satie was a forerunner to minimalism and ambient music. He experimented with what he called 'furniture music' which was meant to be in the background. His Gymnopédies sound like modern new age music. The works of modern electronic composers like Robert Rich and Steve Roach influenced me to incorporate electronics, organic sounds and other modern sonics into my works in order to add spaciousness and ethereal qualities to the soundscapes.
